Who we are

The Nevada Bicycle Coalition’s (NVBC) mission is to make Nevada a “Bicycle Friendly” state. This means more than receiving a designation by the League of America Bicyclists but becoming bicycle-friendly in the true sense. This should result in bicyclists bicycling fearlessly nearly everywhere that motor vehicles go and receiving the care and respect of motorists to which they are entitled. Bicyclists are considered fearless because there are facilities that are adequately separated from motor vehicle traffic on which to ride, and they are adequately protected by bicycle-considerate traffic regulations.

NVBC is made up of cycling groups, enthusiasts, law enforcement, and government agencies throughout Nevada. Anyone who cares about making Nevada roads safer for cyclists can be considered part of the coalition, and we have found that that includes many more people than just cyclists. However, the 501(c)3 non-profit that represents the Coalition (i.e., Nevada Bicycle Coalition, Inc.) is currently in a transition period and is looking for new members to help accomplish the goals of making Nevada a bicycle-friendly state.

If you can help us out, please message us on Facebook. We are looking to fill the following positions:

  • Washoe County Representatives (Two Positions):
  • Carson City Representatives (Two Positions):
  • Greater Las Vegas Area Representatives (Two Positions):
  • Rural Representative (One Position):
  • Tribal Lands Representative (One Position):

NVBC welcomes interest in participation from Nevada residents who wish to help improve the safety of cycling around the state. Please get in touch with us on Facebook to get involved.
